ABOUT US

Since 2008, in association with small cacao producers from different COLOMBIA regions, we produce and sell premium chocolate. We focus on DARK CHOCOLATE BARS, COATED CHOCOLATE NUTS and 100% CHOCOLATE BARS to prepare hot chocolate, without blends, or additions. In order to obtain an excellent product, we work with our partners to improve their crops and post-harvest techniques, as well as to strengthen their organizations.

    de la Ensenada de Tumaco . Chocolate Bar 77%.
  • CAQUETÁ: COMCAP – Comité de Cacaoteros de los municipios de El
    Paujil y El Doncello. Chocolate Bar 72%.
  • CASANARE: ASOCANORTE – Asociación de Cacaocultores del Norte del
    Casanare. Chocolate Bar 65%.
  • CAUCA: Cacao grown on traditional eco-native farms. Chocolate Bar 60%.

How do we do it?

  • Paying to cacao producers a quality premium price over the standard price
    at the local market, which represents higher revenues for them.
  • Supporting producers to improve their good agricultural practices and
    improve their post-harvest processes so they will have access to more
    specialize markets.
  • Currently working with 4 cacao farmers associations from different regions
    of Colombia:

    • ASOALPES in Arauca
    • ASOCANORTE in Casanare
    • COMCAP in Caquetá
    • ASPROCENT in Nariño
  • Basing our business model on friendship and trust with the producers
  • Developing a market network that includes producers so they can develop a
    better bargaining power.

AGROBIZ

Founded in 2006, AGROBIZ is a team of qualified, specialized professionals with experience in rural and sustainable development.

It was created with the purpose of helping rural producers to do business and to
connect with their clients in the national and international markets. Its main
objective is to promote development in the rural areas creating new opportunities, now more than ever in post-conflict times.

ABOUT CACAO

Colombian cocoa was declared as fine or flavored cacao, a category that covers only 5% of beans traded worldwide (ICCO, 2007).

Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela produce 70% of the world’s finest flavor cacao

Colombia has a potential 2 million hectares of cacao crops, an area that would place it among the world’s top cacao growers. Colombian geographical characteristics benefit cacao plantations.

There is growing interest in cacao production in Colombia as a way to replace illegal crops and build up a post-conflict scenario.

CHOCOLATE HAS POWER. WE USE THE POWER OF CHOCOLATE TO TRANSFORM THE LIFE OF SMALL FARMERS, TO CHANGE THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY AND TO GIVE HEALTH AND JOY TO OUR CONSUMERS.

  • 5 hectares of cacao ensures to the producer’s family permanent revenues over a 1000 USD per month.
  • Colombia bets on cacao as the crop capable of motivate small producers to replace coca in conflict zones.
  • Cacao is grown in agroforestry arrangements in which plantain, timber trees, fruits, vanilla or pepper crops are associated, it protects water and promotes biodiversity.
  • Chocolate contains substances such as phenols and polyphenols that bring great health benefits. It also contains minerals that ensure a good performance of the brain such as magnesium. Cacao butter is classified as “good fat”, helping to control coronary heart disease.
  • Theobromine, the main component of cacao produces a feeling of well-being and gives energy to those who consume it.
